My wife & I just bought this…

What you are looking at is the Tempur-Pedic GrandBed and two Grand Pillows. This is described by many mattress reviewers as the Rolls-Royce of mattresses, gotta love that!
Along with the mattress and pillows, we ordered a low profile grand foundation, mattress protector, and sheet set. The order before tax & shipping would have put us back $8,025 based on retail pricing.
Being that I’m a tight wad, I would never shell out that much money for a mattress set no matter how good the reviews are. The only reason we purchased this is because one of my closest homies is a sales rep for Tempur-Pedic and extended us one of the two annual friends/family/personal 75% discounts he is allotted per year.
The savings was too good to pass up, and given my history of spine surgeries (Four T5 Corpectomy’s since 1999) I felt it made sense to spend a little over $2800 (after tax & shipping) to potentially improve my posture and minimize my back pain a bit. The Trader in me felt it was a good reward to risk ratio.
After two nights of sleeping with this new set up, I can already feel a difference. I am shifting very little in my sleep, approximately 3-4 times per night thus far versus 10-15 with my previous set up. I feel more spry in the morning. I still wake up sore, but I’ve already noticed an improvement in the level of soreness. My wife loves it too, no complaints from her at this point.
I read it takes 2 months to get used to a Termpur-Pedic mattress, but I disagree. My wife & I have experienced no trouble sleeping on it. I’ll post an update in two months.

I’ve had my eye on this mattress for awhile now…Decided to save 3k and bought a king Stearns and Foster instead. I really like it alot…but i still think I would love the TP Grand. Keep me posted on your experience. Great blog btw… Hope all is well…
What up Carson! I’ve heard great things about the Cloud Lux and Cloud Supreme. I think those are in the same price point as Stearn & Foster. Did you check either of those out when you were mattress shopping?
The grand is a unnecessary luxury, but we had to do it given the extreme discount. Glad you like your new bed, I’ll keep you posted on mine for sure.
