As noted in a previous post, I was invited by Howard Lindzon to ring the Nasdaq closing bell with him, the Stocktwits crew, and some members of the Stocktwits community on August 25th, 2009.
I had a blast! The closing bell ceremony was an awesome experience, and getting to meet some of my Stocktwits buddies in person was fantastic.
In my attempt to document the occasion, I took a few videos while we were gearing up for the closing. Here are a couple for your viewing pleasure. I kept them short for ya.
Before we rang the bell, we were debriefed by a Nasdaq employee. Here’s a portion of the debriefing:
They showed us a company video before the closing took place. Here’s a snippet:
Howard Lindzon was invited to the podium to say a few words…
The Nasdaq had a welcome message (although it didn’t make a lot of sense being that in the message, Stocktwits was welcoming rather than being welcomed) for us on the Nasdaq screen in Times Square…pretty cool:
You thought I was done? Shoo. Here’s a couple pictures.
Here’s a shot of me standing at the Nasdaq podium:
Afterwards we all went out for a few drinks at Antartica. My favorite part of the night was taking a SoCo & Lime shot with Howard, which led to this picture…
